ISAUnited is preparing to launch Intrusion 8, our new Red Team Intelligence initiative, with an official kickoff on May 18, 2026. Intrusion 8 was created to help defenders, architects, engineers, and technical leaders better understand how modern intrusions succeed across enterprise and cloud environments, and how those intrusions should inform stronger defensive design.
At the center of Intrusion 8 is a structured eight phase progression model called Threat Operations Functions, which frames adversary activity from Initial Reconnaissance through Complete Mission. This model gives ISAUnited a disciplined way to study real world cyber intrusions, translate them into defensible lessons, and help organizations improve architecture, detection, response, and engineering readiness.
Intrusion 8 is also part of a broader ISAUnited vision. As this initiative grows, it will help support the development of the first Red and Blue Engineering Exercise (RBEX) Standard, a structured model for conducting Red and Blue teaming in a way that is repeatable, defensible, and useful across industries and organizations globally. Our goal is to help define a higher standard for Red and Blue engineering exercises that operate within clear guardrails, remain structured and measurable, and stay aligned to meaningful defensive outcomes.
On May 18, 2026, we will formally introduce Intrusion 8 and begin sharing more of what this initiative will deliver through Red Team intelligence, incident analysis, and defensible insights for the global cybersecurity community, our members and students.
