ISAUnited was established to bring clarity, structure, and discipline to cybersecurity architecture and engineering. But our responsibility extends beyond publishing standards. Many of our students and early-career members are looking for direction, practical knowledge, and mentors who can help them develop sound professional judgment.
As President, I believe leadership means making complex work understandable, setting disciplined expectations, and connecting knowledge to real-world practice. Through our standards, Academy, research, credentialing, and professional community, we aim to help each person strengthen their capabilities, build confidence, and understand the responsibility that comes with protecting the systems people depend on.
Our governance structure brings these efforts together under accountable institutional leadership and dedicated technical oversight. We are building an Institute that earns trust through clear purpose, disciplined processes, practical contribution, and service to the profession.

CYBER ACADEMY AND CERTIFICATION ISSUANCE
INSTITUTIONAL ASSURANCE & CREDENTIAL DUE DILIGENCE
Workforce-Informed. Evidence-Governed. Publicly Verifiable.
ISAUnited develops and maintains its Cyber Academy courses and programs, Certified Associate Licenses (CALs), and Certified Professional Licenses (CPLs) through documented occupational research, competency mapping, governance, assessment design, approval, and periodic review. Professional roles and competency requirements are informed by recognized public workforce resources, including the NIST NICE Workforce Framework for Cybersecurity, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, O*NET, and U.S. Office of Personnel Management competency guidance.
Credential design and administration are also informed by recognized certification-program practices, including standards and resources from the National Commission for Certifying Agencies and the Institute for Credentialing Excellence, together with personnel-certification principles reflected in ISO/IEC 17024:2026 and related ANSI National Accreditation Board guidance. Where applicable to ISAUnited’s credential model, these references support occupational relevance, defensible assessment, impartial decision-making, documented authorization, credential-registry integrity, continuing competence, complaints and appeals, and periodic program review.
ISAUnited issues credentials and is responsible for developing, administering, awarding, maintaining, and verifying them under published policies, standard operating procedures, and Licensure Council governance. CALs and CPLs are private professional credentials issued by ISAUnited.
INSTITUTIONAL GOVERNANCE
Charter and Bylaws
ISAUnited operates under formal governance documents that define the Institute’s purpose, authority, leadership structure, and operating responsibilities. The ISAUnited Charter and Bylaws are available upon request for governance review, institutional due diligence, accreditation, partnership evaluation, and other legitimate professional purposes.
ISAUnited Institute Charter
Defines the Institute’s governing authority, organizational purpose, leadership structure, and relationship among the legal entity, Board of Directors, officers, committees, and institutional operations.
ISAUnited Institute Bylaws
Establishes the operating rules and procedures that support governance, meetings, voting, appointments, records, administration, accountability, and organizational continuity.
