Certified Associate License (CAL)

Career launch licensing for workforce entry candidates, college students, and emerging practitioners preparing for practical cyber defense work through the Cyber Academy.

PROGRAM & CREDENTIAL DUE DILIGENCE

ISAUnited’s courses and credentials undergo policy-required due diligence using relevant NICE, BLS, O*NET, and OPM resources to document occupational relevance, competency alignment, and the connection between learning outcomes and assessment. Credentialing quality reviews are informed by NCCA/I.C.E. resources.  Questions about program alignment or credential governance?

Contact us at info@isaunited.org for due diligence inquiries and supporting documentation.

What the Certified Associate License Represents

The Certified Associate License (CAL) is designed to validate more than knowledge recall. It reflects a candidate’s ability to demonstrate foundational cybersecurity knowledge, practical skills, applied reasoning, and readiness for career-launch practice.

CAL emphasizes what a candidate can understand, apply, and demonstrate through structured learning, assessments, and practical exercises.

  • Knowledge — Understand essential cybersecurity concepts

  • Skills — Apply what has been learned in practical activities

  • Abilities — Demonstrate reasoning, judgment, and readiness in realistic scenarios

CAL is built to show practical understanding, not simply the ability to select the correct answer.
