Introducing the Defensible10: Technical Standards for Cybersecurity Architecture & Engineering

We are thrilled to announce a major milestone for ISAUnited.org! After extensive research, collaboration, and refinement, we've completed our comprehensive security standards schema function (download the whitepaper in the ISAU Library, our central repository for research, publications, and technical resources). This significant achievement paves the way for the release of our groundbreaking book of standards, "Defensible10: Where Cybersecurity Architecture & Engineering Meet Practical Defense."

This publication marks the first dedicated standards guide focused exclusively on cybersecurity architecture and engineering. It symbolizes a significant leap forward for professionals in the field, offering clearly defined, actionable, and measurable standards to enhance organizational security posture.

We extend our gratitude to ISO and NIST for their foundational standards; we recognize cybersecurity was born and scaled rapidly, and their contributions provided essential building blocks. However, ISAUnited.org is confidently stepping forward and leading the way with specialized technical standards explicitly designed for cybersecurity architecture and engineering.

Cybersecurity engineering has officially joined the ranks of traditional engineering disciplines such as civil, mechanical, and structural engineering with its first and only Standards Development Organization (SDO). Learn more about the history and significance of engineering standards here: https://www.isaunited.org/the-history-of-engineering-standards.

Our Defensible Standards provide the technical structure for cybersecurity professionals worldwide to build robust defenses, ensuring that security by design is not just aspirational but achievable. As we move forward, our ongoing commitment remains firm: continuously evolving these standards through rigorous research, collaboration, and peer review, empowering professionals and organizations to secure a safer digital future.

Stay tuned for upcoming whitepapers, implementation guidance, member webinars, and interactive forums on our new Defensible Standards as we roll out this essential guide to advancing cybersecurity architecture and engineering.
